"Electric", the third single from Hull's latest rising stars Fever, unites warm guitar tones, uplifting lyrics and smooth vocals to deliver a classy, fantastically catchy slice of 90s-infused indie nostalgia. Harmonised vocals are utilised throughout the track, sitting perfectly amongst well produced instrumentation to add to the sing-along quality. Whilst the song doesn't deviate too far from classic indie-pop, the quality of the songwriting and musicality raises it above the standard tracks offered by the genre, making it accessible without being cliché.

As stated by vocalist James Harrod, "Electric" is a song born from the thrill of not knowing where a budding relationship may end up. This relatable subject is reflected in the lyrical content - "I'm still a stranger in your mind" capturing this topic perfectly in just seven words. The lyrics are interwoven with a an air of cautious optimism, but the uptempo rhythm and melodic guitar riffs offer an effortlessly feel-good sound that instantly puts the listener in an upbeat mood.

Considering the quintet were formed only a year ago, Fever already have a range of accomplishments under their belt. They've played This Feeling's 'Best of 2020' gig in Manchester, supported Blossoms on their most recent UK tour and have had a string of sold out shows of their own, something that not many brand new bands can say they've achieved in such a short amount of time. If these feats are anything to go by, Fever are set to make 2020 their year, and definitely have a bright future ahead of them.

"Electric" is out now via Very Clever Records. Listen to it here
