Using sparkling, clean guitars, funky basslines and uptempo drums, Stockport quintet Fuzzy Sun's latest single "Warm Nights" conveys the summery feel alluded to by the track title. Whilst there is a familiarity, through the musicality that Fuzzy Sun have made their own, the track is exciting, buoyant and fresh. The effected vocals lift the singing above the other musical elements in the verses, before additional layers and harmonies combine with memorable hooks in the chorus to create an uplifting, singalong hit.
An electronic lead part paves the way for an almost blues-toned guitar solo before the vocal section of the bridge, once again highlighting their developing versatility and skill as musicians. A burst of synth-laden instrumentation amps up the energy as the track reaches it's euphoric crescendo. "Warm Nights" was both recorded and produced by the band, making their latest offering a piece less influenced by outside sources and therefore an entirely Fuzzy Sun experience.
"Warm Nights" will be accompanied by a B-Side, titled "Don't Play The Fool", which was also recorded and produced by the band at their Stockport rehearsal space. Both tracks were mastered by Grammy-nominated Robin Schmidt.
"Warm Nights" and "Don't Play The Fool" are out today via Very Clever Records. Listen to them here
